Hello! We just started out on an epic 12 hour drive to Austin… which would probably seem more barable if we hadn’t all decided to stay out until 4 am last night…urgh. Fortunately there is a light at the end of this bleak hungover state: we get to wake up in Austin tomorrow morning and enjoy a whole morning/day off before we have to haul ass to the venue for soundcheck.
Which brings me to my appeal for some insider info. Can anyone recommend any good and (more importantly) CHEAP thrift/second hand clothes stores in Austin?
Any place that looks like this would be ace:

Hello!
I know I haven’t mentioned anything about this Half Marathon Thang since that initial post so I thought I’d just reassure you all: I AM still doing it. In fact it’s reached that stage where it’s scarily close… only 6 days to go.
I’ve been following a proper “Training Schedule” for the past couple of weeks and I haven’t collapsed or broken anything yet so I’m taking that as a positive sign. I’ve also been spending far too much time perusing websites dedicated to running, well just Runners World really but even that’s enough. My favourite bits are cautionary tales about not eating too much fibre before a race.
The best part of the whole experience so far (and only decent justification for this post) is the free running top I received from the Alzheimer’s Society.
CHECK IT OUT.

The front isn’t very exciting…
I also wanted to say a massive thank you to any of you that have donated, my total is currently £390, which is more than I could have hoped for. I think the page stays open for up to 3 months after the event. (In case you want evidence that I make it to the end before you donate… a wise move)
Next running blog: AFTER RACE DAY. If I can still move…

Some of you may remember me mentioning some half marathon malarkey about a month ago. Well I have since been reunited with my trusty i-Pod (although devastatingly it’s memory had been wiped so it’s still in a stage of recovery… sob) and this has inspired me to commit to said event. Because as long as I have bangin’ toooooons I’m sure I can make it.
I’ve got just under 3 weeks to get myself up to scratch so I’ll probably have to make the switch from leisurely jogs to proper training from now on. I’m trying to persuade Gareth and Neil to be my training buddies:
Even though I probably would just do it for the lols, I thought I’d also try to raise some money for the Alzheimer’s Society. It’s a cause that means a lot to me after witnessing the distressing effects of Alzheimer’s Disease within my own family. If any of you are interested in sponsoring me, I’ve set up a “justbegging you to donate” page where I talk about it all in a bit more detail here.
If you have any words of advice/ encouragement/ training tips/ your own running experiences to share, that would also be much appreciated…
Cheeeeeeeeeers,
Leks x

I don’t really know how to start this. I’m not sure I can really find the right words to express how I feel about leaving the band. Not in a vaguely coherent manner anyway so I’m sorry if this all comes across as either overly-sentimental or strangely detached.
Making the decision to leave was very difficult and even though I’m excited about what the future has in store for both me and the rest of Los Camp! (once they unveil their bright spangly new line-up), I still get a lump in my throat every time I think about my time in the band coming to an end. Trust me, I’m gutted. The past 3 years have given me some of the best times of my life full of incredible experiences and wonderful people. I am really grateful to have been a part of the Los Campesinos! story. I’m going to miss so much about the whole thing and no doubt regret this move a thousand times over when I’m stuck in some dark corner of a library, while the band are busy playing to thousands in some paradise location…
On the other hand, I can’t wait to attend my first Los Camp! gig and watch from the audience: I’ll be like a proud parent. (Or a bitter heckler, we’ll see how it goes) I know they can only get better. In any case, they better put me on the guest list.
And now our Wikipedia page will have a “Former Members” section: won’t that look impressive…
That all seems massively inadequate.
To sum up:

On my return I found out my parents had filled the ginger shaped place in their heart with this cutey:

That’s right… it’s a fox. And it lives in my back garden. And it gets better: this is only one of 3…either Mummy or Daddy fox. The more astute among you will realise this means there is also a
Baby fox!
My first 2 days here have been dedicated to “Baby Fox Watch” (as yet unsuccessful, sob) whilst raiding all food supplies, catching up on back issues of the Style section of Sunday Times and watching “Great British Menu”. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed being home more than this.
I’ve also been jogging a few times because I’ve decided to try and run a Half Marathon in July. I guess writing that on here means I can’t really go back on it now… that might be a mistake. The saddest thing is that my I-pod is at the I-pod doctor at the moment which means I’ve had to resort to my ancient MP3 player that can only hold 15 songs at a time. Which means they have to be the best songs ever. And that’s where I thought you guys could help me out: your challenge is to help me compile the ultimate 15 song jogging playlist… please.

First we have Gareth sporting the “Come hither, Torn crotch” look:

Up against him is Tom with the coy “There’s a princess in all of us”:

Let’s be honest, they’re both winners…
