These are some of my favourite records from the decade. I don’t want to say that they are “My Top Ten Records Of The Decade” because I’m not sure what that list would look like. They are in some kind of loose order. I had a top 20 but it just seemed like a bit of a cop-out. If anyone wants to see the other 10 records I can post them on here.
Saetia – A Retrospective – 2001
Hot Snakes – Suicide Invoice – 2002
My Latest Novel – Wolves – 2006
Jimmy Eat World – Bleed American – 2001
No Age – Nouns – 2008
Arcade Fire – Funeral – 2004
Grandaddy – The Sophtware Slump – 2000
Blink 182- The Tom, Mark and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back) – 2000
Meneguar – I Was Born At Night – 2005
Wilco – Yankee Hotel Foxtrot – 2002

When I got home yesterday I was greeted by our new 12 week old kitten, Tiggy (Pop). My parents picked her up from a rescue home on Friday and she’s really amazing. We had 4 cats when I was younger so I have grown up to be a big fan of felines.
Check her out:

She is pretty awesome. She can’t go outside yet so she has to crap in a litter tray which smells a bit. That is probably the only bad thing about her.

I’m drinking a beer right now and it got me thinking, “hmm, what are my top 5 favourite beers?” This is going out to you completely live, straight from my mind. This is train of thought real life kinda shit. In descending order:
5.

4.

3.

2.

1.

So there we have it. Heineken, Hoegaarden, Tsingtao, Sierra Nevada and Hofbrau. To be honest this could change pretty soon as I’m enjoying a Leffe as I type. Heineken seems like an odd choice but it’s what I drink in Dempseys and in pubs at home. Plus it’s lighter than other beers/lagers I like so I can drink more of it. And it weighs in at 5%. I have only drunk Hofbrau in a beer hall in Munich and in a bar next to the Off-Soho Suites in NYC. It tastes so good. Unfortunately I don’t know much about it.

There are a few more but these 2 are my favourites. Pretty fun day.

I was just looking through some old pictures in the studio. I found some snaps of me and Gareth that are pretty awesome. Everyone we knew went to the big summer ball. They paid loads money to get drunk with a bunch of smeg-heads and then spent more on the tuxes and dresses and then watched some sub-standard university circuit entertainment. We had other ideas. We got dressed in our glad-rags and wanted to party up in Talybont Social. Here are the awesome shots:

Pretty smooth lookin’ you have to admit. After we took these photos we decided we’d go to the social and get really wasted and be partying when our flatmate Alex “Ramno” Ramsay got back in. But the social was fucking closed! Everyone had gone to the ball. We didn’t even have any beers in the flat and we were too depressed to go and buy any.
It’s not all bad news though. We watched Match of the Day and got to bed early. We got to watch some football and avoided a hangover and saved a load of money. Probably one of the shrewdest decisions we ever made.
Here is a picture of Alex, just so you know exactly how awesome these times were:

Tom just blew up one of Death Cab’s custom amps. Shit happens.

So I was having a chat with Tom and Ollie in the studio about who we would be if we were Manchester United players, past or present. This took place during the 1-0 win against Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League semi final. This is exclusively male members because I don’t want to upset any of the girls by saying they look like Steve Bruce. Although Ellen does resemble Clayton Blackmore. In a good way:
Ellen Campesinos!
So, I thought Ollie had a bit of Dennis Irwin about him. Gareth made the brilliant suggestion of Les Sealey:

Ollie Campesinos!
Tom said he was once told he looked liked Ryan Giggs. This happened in a bar in Australia during the 2004 FA Cup victory against Milwall. The lovely lady actually said, in response to Tom’s face of disappointment, “a better looking, less cross-eyed version of Ryan Giggs.” You can’t argue with that:

Tom Campesinos!
I can’t choose my own look-a-like. That wouldn’t be fair. I’d pick David Beckham, obviously. Luckily Tom said I’m a bit like Lee Sharpe. Maybe it’s because of the “Party Neil” reputation. Or maybe it’s because I’m just pretty cool:

Neil Campesinos!
I was telling Gareth about our conversation and he told me that someone had recently said he looked a bit like the one and only Paul Scholes. This is good. It’s not easy to compare awesome footballers to your friends. Where to start? It’s a good job Gareth’s ball skills are comparable to those of Scholesy so he must be pretty happy with the comparison:

Gareth Campesinos!
Any other suggestions? Sorry if I have caused any offence. Ellen saw her comparison and she was very happy with it. I couldn’t find many decent old squad photos that weren’t bad scans. That’s probably down to some bad googling. If anyone finds some decent quality, classic United pics you should post the links.
