‘So Close to Heaven (Live at Troxy)’ is OUT NOW

What better way to tie a bow on the All Hell era than with a live album? When we played two huge, celebratory shows at Troxy back in February, we knew we had to take the opportunity to document the occasion. Sure enough, we recorded both nights direct from the sound desk, and now present these live versions, replete with horns and strings, and with thousands of you on backing vocals. We hope they illustrate the sheer euphoria, camaraderie and energy of a Los Camp! show.

The last 18 months, since we announced our 7th album, have been the best of our band’s life. Every element of it has been perfect, but the moments we spend on stage are the best of all, life-affirming every time. Increasingly, to exist in this world is to navigate an endless hellscape, but the mortal joy we’re blessed to share with you, while on stage, as one in communion, are fleeting moments of the opposite of that. And that’s why the album’s called, So Close to Heaven.

🖼️ – There’s also a poster available of Rob’s amazing artwork, and it comes with an instant free download of the album! Available in either A2 or A3 size, 2 colour print on high quality 300gsm ‘Wild Clay’ card stock, printed by our friends at Prints of Thieves in Leeds. These are limited edition, to be printed next week.

🤑 – We’ve priced the album at just £5 to make it affordable for all. But Bandcamp does give the option to pay more. If you can afford to stretch to 7 or 8 quid we’d be grateful.

💿 – For this first week, the album is available exclusively via our Bandcamp and webstore (with poster). That is to say, it’s not on streaming. It’ll be added to all streaming platforms on Wednesday 27th August, but we’d very much appreciate you purchasing the album before then if you’re into it. This is a tactic with the obvious intention of making some money! As you likely know by now, our band is 100% independent, with no outside label or management. If you make this purchase, the money comes direct to us and allows us to plan for more activity in the future!

The tracklist? We played 40 songs across the 2 nights, and it seemed an impossible task to decide which to include. In the end, we opted to go for only songs that didn’t feature on our 2012 live album ‘A Good Night for a Fistfight (Live at Islington Assembly Hall)’. Consider this a companion piece!

So Close to Heaven includes nearly everything from All Hell, but also plenty from across our back catalogue. Including the first ever performance of Tiptoe Through the True Bits, only the second ever performance of Hung Empty and heavy renditions of emotional deep cuts To Tundra and You’ll Need Those Fingers for Crossing, plus many more.
